I have see, too often, the Internet Explorer First Run Wizard (which you will see as “Meet Your New Browser”) run EVERYTIME Internet Explorer is launched.  The only pattern I have detected so far, is that this is more likely to occur if you close that tab before it has fully loaded.  Regardless of why it happens the question remains how do I stop the First Run Wizard from running… and here is the answer:

  1. how-to-stop-meet-your-new-browser-ieStart the LOCAL SECURITY POLICY EDITOR (if you have a START button, just click START and type SECURITY and it will show up!)
  2. Expand USER CONFIGURATION > ADMINISTRATIVE TEMPLATES > WINDOWS COMPONENTS > INTERNET EXPLORER
  3. Double click on PREVEN RUNNING FIRST RUN WIZARD
  4. Select ENABLED and set the OPTIONS to GO DIRECTLY TO HOME PAGE
  5. Have a nice day

Restart your Internet Explorer and you will have stopped Meet Your New Browser from running everytime.
