If you have a Samsung S6, you know that the battery cannot be pulled out to force a reset.  This is an unfortunately and annoying situation.  As a result, we are left with a few key combinations that force device into various maintenance modes which seems to solve the issue of looking at a black screen.  Below is a list of those techniques:

  1. plug your S6 into the Adaptive Fast Charger (the white one), leave it for 10 minutes then try to power up the unit by holding the power button for 6 seconds.
  2. press and hold Power button for more than 20 seconds
  3. press and hold Volume Down button, then (without releasing the Volume Down button) press and hold the Power button for 20 seconds
  4. press and hold Volume Down button, then (without releasing the Volume Down button) press and hold the Power button AND the Home button(yes, this means you are holding 3 buttons at the same time) for 20 seconds
  5. press and hold Volume Up button, then (without releasing the Volume up button) press and hold the Power button for 20 seconds
  6. press and hold Volume Up button, then (without releasing the Volume up button) press and hold the Power button AND the Home button (yes, this means you are holding 3 buttons at the same time) for 20 seconds
  7. press and hold Volume Up AND Volume down AND Power buttons for 20 seconds

If none of these combinations work for you, return the phone to your reseller for repair.
