Excel / Word Opens Blank - No Grid Lines, no dataI have seen Office 2000, 2003 and now in 2007 in Word and Excel open “blank” several times over the years.

If you have this problem there are four ways to view the data in the file you openned:

  1. Click VIEW, then select FULL SCREEN.  All other views show no nothing.
  2. PRINT PREVIEW will show the contents of the Word (or Excel) file
  3. Start Excel (or Word) FIRST, then click FILE (or OFFICE BUTTON), OPEN and select the file in question
  4. Use a different Windows profile (i.e. log in as someone else).

Or you could just fix the problem by:

  1. Click START and run excel /unregserver
  2. Wait for Excel to start, then close it, and;
  3. Click START and run excel /regserver
