Microsoft notified it’s corporate partners last week that the system integrator portal used to downgrade Windows 7 Pro / Ultimate to Windows XP Pro will be taken down after Friday, October 22nd. This means that Source Code will no longer be able to provide downgrade keys as a courtesy to it’s customers after that date. Also, systems will no longer be able to be built with Windows XP Pro installed on them.

Microsoft has guaranteed the right to use Windows XP Pro for the life of the Windows 7 product (i.e., 2020). However, starting October 23rd, downgrading to Windows XP Pro will now have to be handled by the end-user, by contacting Microsoft directly. For more information, go to
