SOLVED: Word 2007 / 2010 Does Not Display Header

See the attached screen shot for both a picture of the problem and the steps to resolve it.

If your Word document does not display the header but does display the footer then you have most likely disabled “SHOW WHITE SPACE BETWEEN PAGES”.  You can accidentally turn this off by double clicking on the space between the ribbon and the top of your page (see the top right of the screen shot below).

To solve this:

  1. Click the Office Button (or FILE menu, if you have Office 2010)
  2. Click WORD OPTIONS
  3. Click DISPLAY
  4. Enable “SHOW WHITE SPACE BETWEEN PAGES”
  5. Have a nice day

I can recover this doing double-click on top-page-border-right when the cursor change “two arrows with blank space” doing 2-click suppress space and doing again recover.

Nice solution, this can help you to.
