If you have a modern wireless Cisco Access Point like a 2702 or an 1130, you will likely want (or need) to know what the LED status light is trying to tell you.  Below are the what the LED codes mean.

When the power up sequence is complete:

  • the LED displays a light green color to indicate that it is ready for operation.
  • the LED displays a blue light when a client associates to the access point.
  • the LED displays an amber light to indicate a problem, such as when the access point is unable to verify that the PSE is supplying sufficient power.

See the “Configuring Power” section on page 17 of THIS Cisco document you see an amber light.

Are you using a Cisco Wireless Controller? I’m not absolutely sure, but I don’t know of any Cisco AP’s that will work without the separate controller.

Have you tried setting different speeds?

I have see a few bad Cisco Aironet routers that I cannot get to respond. The unit MIGHT be defective.
