Having OneNote start up by default everytime you sign into Windows is obnoxious.  If you want to get rid of the OneNote icon in system tray / notification area permanently:

  1. Launch OneNotehow-to-disable-onenote-icon-system-tray-startup
  2. Click FILE
  3. Click OPTIONS
  4. Click DISPLAY
  5. uncheck PLACE ONENOTE ICON IN THE NOTIFICATION AREA OF THE TASKBAR
  6. Have a nice day
