If you are using Google Chrome, you may find that is takes 20+ seconds to load the first page and that is annoying.  The problem is likely a proxy setting which you can, and almost certainly should, disable.

Chrome Speed Proxy Fix

  1. Launch Chrome and notice if you see DETECTING PROXY SETTINGS in the bottom left corner.
  2. Click the settings ellipsis (3 dots) in the top right corner of Chrome
  3. Click Advanced to expand it

I suddendly started doing this on 2 computers in my network. I couldn’t isolate the problem. You are a godsend! Many thanks!

After all Chromium apps (Chrome, Edge, Spotify) suddenly started so slowly, I suspected the problem was there. But it looks like it was the automatic proxy detection of Windows.

Now everything is working as it should again. Thank you very much!
