If you have an Android device, you likely have notice the enhanced texting capabilities that were widely released in 2020. These new features, like:
- deliver confirmation
- attachments sending/receiving through WiFi
- larger attachment sizes (i.e. 10MB!)
- …
are named Rich Communication Settings (RCS) and detailed in our article: The Top 10 Things You Need To Know About RCS/Chat.
However now that we have RCS you may have found that once you have clicked on Rich Communication Settings, it becomes greyed out so you can not make changes.
It turns out that after you RCS on or off, it locks for 60 seconds and if you are closely paying attention you can see it actually pops up and tells you that. So the solution is just to close the text / messaging app, wait a minute and then go back into settings.
