We have a Dell Inspiron 13 7000 from 2015 which has a black screen. The laptop powers up and the backlit keyboard turns on but the screen stays black. We show how to revive and repair this apparently dead laptop by pulling the battery and CMOS battery. The we find that Windows and possibly the hard drive are corrupt so show how to make a bootable USB stick from a Windows 10 download and perform Startup Repairs, apply Restore Points, Copy files off the defective machine using command line tips and tricks, then install a fresh version of Windows 10 (Windows 11) and properly patch it.

This instruction apply to all Windows laptops including Dell, HP, Toshiba, ASUS and more.
