In this video GPO Tutorial, we show you how to us GPO to put a website browser shortcut on the Windows Desktop and how to add a program shortcut to the STARTUP folder so it starts automatically.

Windows Active Directory GPO’s are very helpful for creating program shortcuts in menus on the desktop and elsewhere.

How to create Group Policy that adds shortcuts to the desktop or automatically starts up programs by placing shortcuts in the windows STARTUP folder.

We use Windows Server 2022 but these step by step instructions are valid for Server 2019, Server 2016 and Server 2012. On the Desktop side we use Windows 11 but they function the same on Windows 10 and Windows 8.
