SOLVED: How To Change the Wallpaper to Motion, Animated or Video on Samsung Galaxy Phones

We have a very brief article explaining what happened to live wallpapers on new Samsung Galaxy cell phones. It also explains the differences between “motion wallpaper”, “animated wallpaper”, and “video wallpaper” but it does not explain how to change to an animated, motion, or video wallpaper for free.

One of the problems we found with the new Samsung Galaxy S25 line is that finding these different wallpapers is a pain. It would make sense that you would simply go into your wallpaper settings and find new ones there but it’s not that simple. Fortunately, it’s definitely not hard either just not obvious:

1. Using your finger, press and hold any empty space on the home screen (not on an icon)
2. Select THEMES – that’s right, do not select WALLPAPERS
3. Click WALLPAPERS (at the bottom)
4. Click the SEARCH icon (at the top right)
5. In the search field enter MOTION WALLPAPER, ANIMATED WALLPAPER or VIDEO WALLPAPER
6. Click the filter drop top (top left) and select TOP FREE, unless you want to pay
7. Click on the one you want then select DOWNLOAD
8. Click APPLY (at the bottom) when the download is complete, and the DONE (in the top right corner)

Note that these movement wallpapers only apply to your LOCK screen and not your normal home screen wallpaper.
