My 94 year old father was really getting annoyed with the locking codes on his Samsung S23 Fan Edition and considering he doesn’t do anything financial on his phone, like banking, I decided it was best to remove the PIN code he was using.
To remove the locking pin and have no password or codes to log in to a Samsung Gallaxy Android cell phone, you’ll need to change the screen lock type to “None” or “Swipe”.
Keep in mind that removing all screen lock security is not recommended as it leaves your phone and personal data vulnerable to unauthorized access.

- Open the Settings app: Swipe down from the top of your screen to open the Quick Settings panel, and then tap the Settings icon (gear icon)
- Go to Lock screen: Scroll down and tap on Lock screen
- Select Screen lock type: Tap on Screen lock type
- Enter your current PIN: You will be prompted to enter your current PIN to proceed.
- Choose “None” or “Swipe”:
- None: Selecting “None” will completely remove all screen lock security
- Swipe: Selecting “Swipe” will only require a swipe on the screen to unlock your phone. This offers minimal security
- Confirm your choice: You might get a warning message about the risks of removing screen lock security. Tap Continue or Remove to confirm your decision
After following these steps, your Android cell will no longer require a PIN, password, or code to unlock. It will either unlock with a simple swipe or immediately upon turning on the screen if you selected “None”.

This is not an option for me. the “none” and “swipe” options are greyed out.

That is odd Jessica – if you can email us screenshots and details on your device (ie. S23 S24…) we can look into it further.
