We recently had a problem in our own corporate office with the following error when trying to connect to WiFi:

cant connect because the sign in requirements for your device and the network aren't compatible

As you might suspect this was quite unexpected and urgent. We run two different networks from our Cisco Access Points (AP’s) and our testing showed that our public “URTech Guest” network was working fine, so that mostly ruled out problems with the AP’s. The issue was occurring only on our domain WiFi.

We are embarrassed to say we found the problem quite quickly; the certificates on our Windows Server 2022 RADIUS server had expired… ooops!

We renewed the certs, cycled both the RADIUS service and the Cisco AP (not required), and BINGO all was well.
