We were deploying some new windows 11 Dell laptops when we ran into this error on several of them when we were trying to sign in with new local accounts:
Something went wrong But you can try again OOBESETTINGSMULTIPAGE

There are a myriad of possible causes for this error from corrupt files, to temporary glitches, however, it has been our experience that the issue is often network card related. There are 5 things we do when we can’t get past the dreaded OOBESETTINGSMULTIPAGE error:
- Disable or Remove the NIC, Reboot and Try Again
- in vSphere and Nutanix this an easy setting change, and if it a physical machine we disable the NIC in the BIOS
- Many sites discuss how this error is caused by duplicate IP and MAC addresses so you can play around with that first, but it is much faster to just kill the NIC
- Reboot and Try Again But Answer No to All of The Questions
- We put this into a couple of AI tools and the thought was that the problem may be that one of the items you answer YES to in the Mini-Setup Wizard is having problems communicating with Microsoft, so if you opt for NO, it has nothing to communicate
- Both Disable NIC and Answer NO
- This was our solution recently. Oddly neither of the options above worked, but when we disabled the NIC in VMWare and answered NO to all the question, the Mini-Setup Wizard completed without incident
- Log In With SAFE MODE
- Log into the machine with a different user account that is working, click START and search for SAFE MODE in ADVANCED STARTUP OPTIONS, then reboot and follow the process to get into SAFE MODE.
- Use the new / problematic account to log in
- Reboot and see if the Mini-Setup Wizard problem has been resolved
- Log into the machine with a different user account that is working, click START and search for SAFE MODE in ADVANCED STARTUP OPTIONS, then reboot and follow the process to get into SAFE MODE.
- Create a New User Account
- This is not a good option, but we have seen some local user accounts just not be able to complete the Mini-Setup Wizard so at some point you give up and start fresh
