“Multiview” is Samsung’s term for split screen viewing apps and while we understand why some people like it, we hate it and want to turn it off.
How To Disable Split Screen MultiView Generally
- Go to Settings
- Tap on Advanced Features
- Tap on Multiwindow
- Toggle off the all the switches next to “Swipe for split screen” and “Swipe for pop-up view”.
How To Disable Split Screen MultiView on Edge Panel Apps
If you are like us and launch apps from the Edge Panel, you might have a setting that makes them open in split screen by default.
- Open your Edge Panel (swipe in from the side of the screen)
- Tap the pencil icon (Edit) or the three dots (Menu)
- Change the OPEN IN SPLIT SCREEN VIEW setting from its default of TAP to TOUCH AND HOLD
- Now tapping an app will open it normally, and a long press will open it in multi-window
