SOLVED: How To Remove A Saved Password In Windows

Have you ever saved (cached) a password in your browser or in some other Windows application and then had the password change but not know how to edit your saved version?  Well, if so, this will help.

Windows stores passwords in the CREDENTIALS MANAGER which you can get to via the CONTROL PANEL.  If you want to remove a dead or wrong password:

  1. Click the START BUTTON
  2. Type PASSWORD
  3. Click MANAGE NETWORK PASSWORDS
  4. Find the item you are looking for and expand it
  5. select REMOVE FROM VAULT

This follows the same basic logic as the Apple Mac Keychain, which I only mention so that those who are searching for WINDOWS KEYCHAIN or HOW TO CHANGE KEYCHAIN IN WINDOWS (i.e. old Mac users) will have this come up their searches.
