SOLVED: How can I Block International Calls When Travelling on a Samsung Android Cell

“Call Barring” is a setting used mostly by international travelers and parents to control their costs by disabling some inbound, outbound and long distance calling capabilities.  You can set a password on these rules so that your kids (or employees) can not change your rules.

As you can see in the screen shot of the Samsung Galaxy S6 CALL BARRING screen to the right, you can easily block:

  1. ALL OUTGOING CALLS
  2. INTERNATIONAL OUTBOUND CALLS
  3. INTERNATIONAL OUTBOUND CALLS EXCEPT HOME
  4. ALL INCOMING CALLS
  5. ALL INCOMING CALLS WHEN ROAMING

To access this feature

  1. Start your PHONE app
  2. Click MORE (or three dots icon) in the top right corner of the screen (or the OPTIONS/MENU button on older devices)
  3. Click SETTINGS
  4. Click MORE in the top right corner of the screen (or the OPTIONS/MENU button on older devices)
  5. Click CALL BARRING

If you click MORE (or three dots icon) in the top right corner of the screen (or the OPTIONS/MENU button on older devices) you can then set a password for these rules.

    • I would THINK that Barring is an OS feature and not tied to the hardware. Are you sure your 8+ is running the most current Android?
