SOLVED: How to Add a Drop Shadow in Paint.net

If you have used Paint.net you know it is a very well constructed free graphics tool that gets updated periodically.  It is very handy for even intermediate graphics works and many companies use Paint.Net as a replacement for MS Paint (yes, Paint still exists in Windows 11 – see our video).

However, one feature that is still missing is drop shadows.  Fortunately Kris Vandermotten wrote free extension to Paint.net that easily creates drop shadows and other effects in 2010 that still works on the most current versions of Paint.net in 2021.  His blog has not been updated in a decade so we have a copy of the add-in for you to download for free HERE.
