The original version of the S3’s firmware had this setting was off by default but since the newer firmware has been installed, text messages now automatically appear in the Inbox of your Samsung Galaxy S3 (and likely other Android 4 devices).
Start you email
Click the MENU button (left of the large physical home button at the bottom)
Click SETTINGS
Click your account
Scroll to the bottom and uncheck SMS
