SOLVED: VIDEO: Windows Cannot Access The Specified Device OR File Contains a Virus or Unwanted Software

If you have downloaded some software and cannot install it because you see either of these two messages, this is the article for you:

Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software

Windows cannot access the specified device path or file You may not have the appropriate permission to access them

The solution is to:

1. Click the START button
2. Type SECURITY CENTER
3. Click on Windows Security
4. Click APP & BROWSER CONTROL
5. Click the REVIEW button on REPUTATION-BASED PROTECTION
6. Click on the program that has been blocked and select the ACTIONS button at the bottom right corner of the window
7. Select ALLOW ON DEVICE

Now launch (double click) your perviously blocked software again and it will install.
