GPO Filtering not working? In this Active Directory Group Policy Filtering Tutorial, we explain the gotcha and how to fix it. Once you remove AUTHENTICATED USERS from a GPO FILTER your GPO will not likely work very well.

We use Windows Server 2022 but these step by step instructions are valid for Server 2019, Server 2016 and Server 2012. On the Desktop side we use Windows 11 but they function the same on Windows 10 and Windows 8.

Microsoft Active Directory is very powerful and allows you to create Group Policy Objects that you can then apply to computers, users or any Organizational Unit (OU). You can use a Group Policy Filter to restrict that policy to just those users or computers you want to effect.
